What Is "Fair Use"?

The Fair Use amount is what we would consider to be a fair amount of storage space or networking bandwidth for the size and valuation of your account.

Can I Go Over The "Fair Use" Amount?

Yes, but by doing so, you risk having some level of enforcement applied to your account.

What Kind Of Enforcement Should I Expect?

One of two things will happen.

  1. You will need to upgrade to a higher plan, which may come at an additional cost.
  2. Your Soft Limits will be converted to Hard Limits, which will result in an immediate account suspension until you're able to reduce your storage usage or networking bandwidth.

Can Enforcement Occur If I Go Over The Soft Limit, But Remain Within The Fair Use Amount?

Yes, but only in very rare circumstances, such as if our server itself is beginning to run out of available storage. This is why we always recommend that you stay as close to the soft limit as possible.

What Is A Soft Limit?

It is the guaranteed amount of storage space or monthly bandwidth that will be assigned to your account at all times.
